Ft. FrederickApril 5-6  Garrison Weekend, 1st Virginia Regiment, Fort Frederick State Park
Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Members of the 1st Virginia will garrison the fort and demonstrate the life of Continental soldiers during the Revolutionary War. For information call 301-842-2155.

Ft. FrederickApril 12 - 13 British Revolutionary War Garrison Weekend, Fort Frederick State Park.
Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Members of the 17th Foot, 33rd Foot, and 76th Foot will garrison the fort and demonstrate the life of British soldiers during the Revolutionary War. For information call 301-842-2155.

Ft. EdwardsApril 19, 2008  Fort Edwards Colonial Feast
Check back for details. The Fort Edwards Foundation marks the anniversary of the Battle of Great Cacapehon of April 18, 1756. We have a history symposium and a catered Colonial Feast. Call for tickets to the Feast. Fire Hall in Capon Bridge, WV. For information call (304)496-8845.

Hager HouseApril 19-20 "Behind the Scenes at the Hager House" Children's Program
Kids (Ages 6-12) get to see the Hager House and off-tour items/areas and learn about and dress up in colonial era clothing and make and play with toys used in Hager's Time. Programs run Saturday 9-12 and Sunday 1-4. Admission cost: $2 per child. Adults $2 with paying child. Registration is required by Friday April 11- please specify Saturday OR Sunday.

Ft. FrederickApril 24 - 27 18th Century Market Fair, Fort Frederick State Park
Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thu, Fri, Sat and 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sun. Now in its 14th year, the Market Fair features the best artisans, craftspeople, and sutlers together with an 18th Century encampment. For information call 301-842-2155.

Hager HouseMay 3-4  "Museum Ramble" at Hager House
This special weekend will feature a no admission open house along with a fun scavenger hunt for the family to complete as they walk through the Hager House and Museum. Also on site will be a French and Indian War encampment with reenactors in period dress. Something for the whole family Saturday 10-4, Sunday 1-5

Ft. FrederickMay 17 - 18  French and Indian War Muster, Fort Frederick State Park.
Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 18th Century French, British, and American Indian reenactors assemble for a weekend of living history and tactical demonstrations at Fort Frederick State Park. Period crafts and vendors will also be available. For information call 301-842-2155.

Ft. FrederickJune 6 - 8  Brigade of the American Revolution Firelock Match and Tactical Exercise, Fort Frederick State Park
Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Brigade of the American Revolution, a National organization composed of British, American, French, and German reenactment units, will encamp at Fort Frederick. The weekend will feature a variety of living history demonstrations, including live firing demonstrations and tactical demonstrations. For information call 301-842-2155.

Hager HouseJune 12 "Herbs of Hager's Time," Hager House Museum
Take a walk through the Hager House gardens and learn about some of the herbs commonly grown in Colonial times and their home and medicinal uses. 7 p.m. Free.

 

Ft. Loudoun

June 20-22, 2008 Col. Henry Bouquet at Fort Loudoun: the Cherokee Council of 1758
Location: Fort Loudoun on Forbes Road (Rt. 30), between Chambersburg and McConnellsburg, Pa.

Col. Washington's Frontier Forts Association is cooperating with our member hosts, Fort Loudoun and Conococheague Institute, for this major 2008 anniversary event. There will be both an historic area for reenactors and period sutlers and a modern area for presentations, site displays and suppliers.

Hager HouseAugust 9  "Colonial Family Fun Day" at Hager House
Come participate in our first ever day of Colonial Games for families. Learn about the pastimes of families on the frontier and compete against other families in a fun filled field day. Registration required. Please call by Friday July 25th to confirm your space. Entry fee $10 per family (1-2 adults + children; includes tour + activities). 1:00 pm -4:00 pm. Weather Permitting.

Ft. EdwardsSeptember 6-7  Fort Edwards Heritage Day
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday; 12 noon - 4 p.m. Sunday. Annual festival celebrating the French and Indian War in Hampshire County; part of Hampshire County Heritage Days. Displays, music and food. Events throughout City Park. Free admission to festival. Reduced admission to the Hager House.
