Advance party met French around apartment building marked on right as "First Contact" then the forward parties fell back on the advancing
main body somewhere under the arrow marked "Main Battle" on this side of the river in area hidden by trees just beyond the parking lot.
Fort Duquesne at the Forks of the Ohio is about 7-8 miles distant.
